Refined...

November 14, my last blog post.  What has happened since then?  I'm not going to lie, it's been a challenging couple of months.  Lowlights include: having to move out of my apartment and live out of a suitcase, a co-worker's resignation from the church.  Highlights include: getting to stay with a couple from church who have been very generous and hospitable, my mom's visit for three weeks over Christmas, Ann's visit, and a trip to Bali.
What's next?  Now that things are "back to normal" and there are a few changes in the way the youth program will work, I feel like I can finally get down to business and do what God called me here to do.  Not that I wasn't busy before, but I see that period as more of a refining stage.  Sometimes God delivers us from hardship, but other times He allows us to experience it in order to refine our faith.

I Peter 1:6-7 says "In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed."

I am amazed by God and His goodness as well as His omniscience.  Only an all-knowing God could have orchestrated things with such perfect timing.  Only a powerful God could take this weak and frail human being and slowly transform her into someone that He can use.

A few adventures with Mom!

How can you support me in prayer?
In the next few weeks, I'll be making the move back into my apartment but with a new roommate - Jessica.  Pray that everything goes smoothly and that Jessica and I can stop talking long enough to get our work done!

All the changes coming about in the youth program.  I love working with the kids, especially in small groups and mentorships.  I'm also really excited about the new things we want to implement!

It looks like I will be returning to JICF for the 2012-2013 school year.  Pray that I will continue to seek God's will in this decision.
