My Back Yard

If you have known me for any length of time you may have noticed that I work best with a deadline.  So, I've been given (can't assign it myself, it doesn't work that way) the 5th of each month as a due date for a new post.
This may be cheating, as I originally intended to post something requiring a little bit deeper thought, but as the date approaches and also happens to be a Sunday this month (busy time of week for me), you get a little bit lighter material for now.
Experienced travelers know about jet lag and how it wakes you up at early hours.  I decided to capitalize on that and get into a habit of morning walking.  I am blessed to live in an apartment building with a lovely little walking path in the back.  It's not very big, so I can't go too fast or I might get dizzy!  But it is quite a treat to be able to withdraw into a green sanctuary amidst the noise and pollution of the big city.  I also get to greet a few of my neighbors who enjoy a morning walk.

The futsol field.

Bamboo lines one wall.

View from the opposite end of my walk.  At this end I am reminded that I still live in Jakarta.  The smelly stream of garbage is on the other side of the fence

Workers are always out sweeping, hosing off the sidewalk, clipping the grass (notice how short) with a large pair of scissors, or "fluffing" the grass with a screwdriver.

Do you see what I see?  Wildlife in Jakarta!
